With more than 50 ayurveda colleges in Karnataka alone and more than 60 clueless ayurvedacharyas graduating from each college every, what is the scenario of employment in India?
The burning question here is what after BAMS? Not every Ayurveda graduate has a mindset to practice and not everybody has the financial aid to go ahead and do their further studies. So its back to square one, the same question all over again,WHAT NEXT?
The pharma sector of ayurveda also holds no promises, they themselves are reluctant hiring a ayurveda graduate. Clinics and spas have a different expectations altogether. We are recruited alright but with lowest wages and highest possible hours of work. Government announce their grandeur plans for ayurveda doctors every year, a grand sum is released for AYUSH every year but does that really alter the situation in any way for struggling ayurveda graduates?
